summer is when the cicadas sing, when the days are so hot they bleed together

my collected links

just links i've collected for sites i like

stuff that helped with this site

Gloomaps, a sitemap creator
W3 Schools HTML Tutorial, and by extension their CSS Tutorial and JavaScript Tutorial. These tutorials are really clear and let you skip ahead or backwards at your own pace; mostly I pick and choose which lessons are relevant to what I'm trying to do. They include 'try it yourself' options that show you the base code and how it appears on the page so you can edit it and see what makes it tick, which really helps. Also symbols...
Ancient glass bead pngs that I found on tumblr because I wanted glass bead pngs and them being ancient was a bonus.
Wandering Island by Kenji Tsuruta. teehee
Notepad ++, which you proabably already have downloaded if you're any bit serious about your neocities site, but I didn't know about it beforehand and was having trouble editing my site on the neocities editor but just editing it on notepad was going to be too difficult as well. After complaining to my more tech-savvy classmate, he recommended this. And asked me to download it immediately. It's so much nicer than trying to code through the internet. Once I'm done, I'll just put it all online !!
CSS grid layout tutorial!!!!! my saviour !!!!

other random stuff

Monkeytype. A touch typing test website that is almost 100% customisable and tracks a lot of stuff so you can see really clearly how you improve. My current theme is bright pink.
Keybr, a touch-type learning website that isn't super childish or you have to pay for. It's very simple and resets if you don't make an account which bothers me to no end.
Batcave biz. Online comic reading website.
Mp3 tag my love and saviour for organising all the legally obtained music on my Mp3 player.
Frong pond by shar. A cute desktop idle game that sits anywhere on your screen and makes frogs appear to share your space while you work. All of the sounds were recorded by shar herself and I think about that everytime I make them squeak.
Between Two Books, a book-recommending website for Florence and the Machine's fandom, based off books the singer herself has recommended and others similar recommended by the community.
Ryoko Kui's blog, the author of Delicious in Dungeon. If you want to hear my thoughts on the manga/show, check my bookshelf !!
Electric Zine Maker, which I discovered trying to find something to input pages to simulate a book while designing a photography book for my sibling. I have not used it and probably won't in the foreseeable future, but it looks cool lol.
Hold on to each other.

videos

My Boy Builds Coffins by Florence and the Machine, played in a square in London 17 years ago. If it ever disappears off youtube I'm smashing my computer up. It's the only video I've downloaded that is playable on my Mp3 player and I can't figure out why.
Between Two Lungs, first performance by Florence. I thought this one would work on my Mp3 player because the youtube video itself (without compression) seems to be the right size/resolution/bit rate/etc. But it didn't work and I am increasingly perplexed at the WLT video (above).
⯌ You know what, here. Just have Florence and the Machine's youtube channel.
Puparia and the making of. Just watch it.
Kororon, music video by Eve, animated by Ligton.
Fight Song, another of Eve's songs, this time animated by mariyasu. Any of mariyasu's animations for Eve's music are going to be good, this one is just my favourite.
⯌ Actually, Eve's channel is a goldmine for insanely well-animated music videos.
Wonderland, an animation by zemyata, and Forget, as well as Final Girl and It's ok to envy.
Blood Bound and its sequel Curtain Call, by Lyly or zaccr.9 and how she made Blood Bound. Both are animated short films done as thesis work, with an intersting plotline and great storytelling.
Truth in Lies, a music video by Zutomayo animated by hanabushi.
